Viktor Gyokeres Sacrifices €2 Million For Arsenal Move

Sporting Lisbon centre-forward, Viktor Gyokeres, has reportedly agreed to take a pay cut worth €2 million annually to join Arsenal.
Naija News gathered that Viktor Gyokeres, 27, has already reached an agreement with Arsenal on personal terms, but the Premier League side has not sealed the deal with Sporting.
Due to Gyokeres’ desire to leave the Portuguese league for the Premier League, the two clubs involved are expected to complete the deal in the coming days.
Recall that Viktor Gyokeres became so eager to leave Sporting that he had to threaten to go on strike if he was not sold to his favourite suitor this summer.
The only thing delaying the transfer currently is the club-to-club negotiations between Arsenal and Sporting over the structure of the deal.
Sporting Lisbon want nothing less than £70 million for the Swedish striker, with at least £60 million paid up front, but Arsenal are pushing for a lesser fee.
Amid that, transfer news expert, Fabrizio Romano quoted Record that the Gunners are not having any problem on the part of the player who is determined to join the English club.
“Viktor Gyökeres has agreed to give up €2m from his salary to facilitate negotiations between Arsenal and Sporting”, the transfer expert wrote on 𝕏.
“Sporting insist on a higher fee compared to Arsenal’s proposal.
“…And Gyökeres tries his best also giving up money to make it happen.”
