There is tight security at the residence of late President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura, Katsina State, as the digging of his grave has commenced.

Naija News learnt that Buhari’s Daura residence, on Tuesday, was filled with many officials of the Department of State Services (DSS) and men of the Nigerian Army were seen stationed at the entrance, while police officers and men of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) were positioned at strategic places.

A source, who spoke with Daily Trust, said the portion where the grave would be dug would be fenced, and the interment of the late leader will also take place at the residence.

President Bola Tinubu, who will personally receive Buhari’s body at Umaru Musa Yar’adua Airport in Katsina, had earlier asked Vice President Kashim Shettima and Femi Gbajabiamila, his Chief of Staff, to proceed to the UK to accompany the body home.

Meanwhile, the General Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church (CGCC), Pastor Tunde Bakare, has narrated an encounter which changed his perception of late former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Bakare stated that, contrary to accusations, Buhari was far from being a religious fundamentalist.

Bakare, who was Buhari’s running mate in the 2011 presidential election, said that all the former President’s bodyguards were Christians.

Speaking during an appearance on Channels Television, the clergyman stated that Buhari once encountered a slight mishap and the first words out of his mouth were ‘Jesus Christ of Nazareth’.
