Liverpool Reject Bayern Munich’s €67.5m Bid For Luis Diaz

Liverpool have turned down a €67.5 million bid from Bayern Munich for winger Luis Diaz, signalling their determination to hold onto the Colombian star despite growing interest from Europe’s top clubs.
According to a report by The Athletic’s David Ornstein on Tuesday, Bayern submitted their first official offer for Luis Diaz as they aim to bolster their attacking options. But the Anfield hierarchy immediately rejected the proposal, reaffirming their stance that Diaz is not for sale.
The 28-year-old, who arrived from FC Porto in January 2022, remains a vital piece of Liverpool’s puzzle, even though he’s yet to agree on a contract extension with just two years left on his current deal.
Sources suggest Liverpool value the winger at over €100 million, a figure more reflective of accounting metrics than an actual asking price.
“The former Porto attacker is into the final 24 months of his contract at Anfield. To date, there has been no sign of an extension, and Diaz has made clear to the club he wants to leave,” Ornstein reported.
However, Liverpool’s message to Bayern, Barcelona, and other suitors has been unequivocal: Diaz stays.
Despite his desire for a fresh challenge, Diaz continues to be central to the Reds’ plans under new head coach Arne Slot.
Last season, he was instrumental in Liverpool’s run to the 2024–2025 Premier League title, scoring 13 goals in 36 matches and showcasing his trademark flair, pace, and determination.
Since making the switch from Portugal, Diaz has racked up 148 appearances in a Liverpool shirt, netting 41 goals and laying on 23 assists in all competitions, a record that has only amplified his value on the global stage.
With Bayern expected to come back with an improved offer, the ball is now in Liverpool’s court. But unless there is a dramatic shift in the club’s position or Diaz pushes hard for an exit, it looks increasingly likely that he will be lining up at Anfield come August.
