Veteran Nollywood actor, Fabian Adibe, has died at the age of 85.

Naija News learnt that Adibe, known for his role in “Things Fall Apart” when adapted into film, died on Wednesday at 2:30 am.

Details surrounding the demise are still sketchy at the time of filing this report.

Celebrity journalist, Seun Oloketuyi, who announced the demise via his Instagram page, wrote, “Things Fall Apart actor, Fabian Adebe, is dead. Died 2:am this morning.

Adibe belongs to the older generation of Nollywood that helped lay a solid foundation for the movie industry.

In the 1970s, he was among the great Igbo young men who formed Odunke Artists.

In other news, late veteran Nollywood actor, Kehinde Olusegun Akinremi, popularly known as Chief Kanran, was severely plagued by appendicitis before his demise.

Naija News reports that United States-based lawyer and astronaut, Owolabi Salis, made this known in a statement on Tuesday, recounting details of his last-minute intervention to save the actor’s life.

Salis said that Chief Kanran reached out to him in July seeking financial support for an urgent surgery, and he immediately transferred the requested amount to the actor.

According to him, Kanran expressed gratitude for the support through subsequent voice notes on July 28 and August 1.

He said, “On July 27, he sent two voice notes saying he was severely plagued by appendicitis, which had subjected him to unbearable pain.

“The actor needed N700,000 for an operation and requested N350,000 to complete the hospital bill.

“However, barely three days later, I received the shocking news of his death. It was a devastating moment for me.”
